As I was a mom with one child at my side and other children with me in the cradle was working 12 hour shifts grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! It was all starting to come together but there was still a long way to go. In this undertaking I had planned to spend a considerable amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. To stay on budget I began attending estate sales with my three sons to find diamonds in the rough. We would go from between Thursday and Saturday in garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished in the driveway in the week. The furniture was like this... and that's the place I discovered my love to restore. I continued to work on furniture long after we completed the renovation of our home. There was an area on the market in town in which I sold my items. In the end, I was stuffed with too many pieces to store in the room available. My house was transformed into a space where I would host open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see the things on my first floor and purchase the items. Growing Days is the result of all this. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our family of four. In a way, I found the ideal balance between being a mum and starting my new venture. Growing Days just fit. My beautiful Nora arrived in the year 2013 and was our fourth baby. It was a great direction for my business but I also needed a vacation. I decided to stop working on my antique furniture and spend time with my children. It was time. The phone rang again after a while. A lot of people contacted me to ask for advice on home improvement and decorating. These were mostly customers that came to my house for furniture. As I went along, I added clients one by one. However, it didn't take that long before I was managing many clients and operated a profitable home improvement business. If you'd told me that my venture would end up being the basis for a DIY Network show, I would probably have been astonished. In fact, I laugh a little when I remember it.
