Jenna Fischer has become best recognized for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy as well as an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her mother, Anne, performed in church plays as a child, which instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna watched as her mother Anne took part in plays at church. She was awed by performance and theatre was cultivated when she was a young girl.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, an actress trained in theater, returned to her roots. The Off-Broadway show she starred in was the play Reasons to Be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. The play was followed by her participation as the first woman to appear in Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking performance in Old Globe Theatre. The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer launched Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf in the month of October. The podcast has proven to be hugely successful, reaching its Top Ten worldwide every week with more than 200 million downloads within its first two-years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She has written two books: The Actor's Life A Survival Guide that outlines her experience in Hollywood acting as a professional and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office From Two Best Friends that Were There an account of the most memorable friendship they had as well as their experience watching The Office.
