The media has called her a horror queen for her horror film work. From 2012 to 2017, she was a part-time actress in the role of Marnie Micheals in HBO's comedy drama show Girls. The show was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award. Rose Armitage's role in Get Out, a horror film that debuted in 2017, was her debut major breakthrough. The movie earned nods at the MTV Movie Awards as well as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
